108 years on Santa Fe Street

The Schad and Pulte families went into business in Gainesville around 1918, back when the store served the farms, railroads, and oil fields of Cooke County with hardware and hard goods. As welding grew from a trade curiosity into the backbone of Texas industry, the store grew with it.

A century later the business is still family-owned, still downtown, and still run on the same idea: stock what working people need, sell it at a fair price, and know enough about the work to give honest advice.

We favor USA-made products where they exist. Not as a slogan — because when a customer brings something back, we're the ones standing across the counter.
